lemon meringue pie
Why did my lemon meringue pie come out green on the edge of the meringue/lemon filling?
The pie crust turned out great but the “meringue” just stayed flat on top of the lemon filling. When I cut into the pie, the lemon filling was so runny. Its my first time baking a lemon meringue pie; actually my first time baking a pie.
Your meringue stays the shape you made it in putting it on. Make sure in the future that it fully covers the filling and is sealed to the crust or it will shrink and promote weeping. I normally pull up a few peaks with the spatula so it looks nicer.
As far as the green tinge, it might be from using an aluminum pan and the lemon juice reacting to that. But it won’t hurt you.

how long after baking a lemon meringue pie do i have to wait before eating it?
i’ve just baked a lemon meringue pie, now my dad’s making dinner and we want to know how long it has to be left out after being baked for 10 minutes, before we can eat it , oh and what’s the best way to cut it? =|
agent 100 – i heard if you don’t keep it at room temperature [eg.in a fridge] it will wilt? (: but thanky
It depends on your own preference, if you want to lemon inside to be fully set, kind of stiff, or if you like the lemon to be slightly runny.
If you want it stiff, place it in a fridge for about 3-4 hours to allow it to fully set, then when you want to cut it, dip a knife in warm water and carefully make a cut, go from there.
If you want it slightly runny, place it in a fridge for around an hour to allow it to partially set, then when you want to serve it, dip a knife in warm water and make a cut, go from there
If you want it warm and runny, do what you did for the slightly runny, then place it in an oven for a few minutes to warm up a little, then cut it with the slightly wet knife.
